Description of Programme
Trace the history of the founding of Singapore and find out more about various significant historical sites around the civic district. During the session, you will learn more about the history of the Singapore during the colonial era, and recognise the need to be self-sufficient and self-reliant as a sovereign nation. This trail meanders through the birthplace of our nation. It connects different times, events and personalities with tangible artefacts that tell the story of Singapore and its people from the past, present and the fast-evolving future with its many challenges. Sites: Fort Canning (Christian Cemetery), Spice Gardens, Archaeological Dig site, Underground Reservoir, replica of Light House and Singapore River Murals, Central Fire Station, Old Hill Street Police Station, Old Parliament House, former City Hall Building, Padang.
