Description of Programme

This Marina Bay Walking Tour is a walk through the history of Singapore, from its earliest days as a trading port around the Singapore River, through to the arrival of the British and the rise to be the Empire’s most important strategic point in the Far East. The war years and the Japanese atrocities are recalled as well as its meteoric rise post-independence to become a shining beacon in many areas of endeavour – port services, banking, finance, tourism, arts and heritage, industry, leisure and entertainment.
