Our Water Story

Description of Programme

One of the most critical challenges of the newly independent country was to ensure its survival and access to water. “Our Water Story” traces how Singapore changed its weakness into a strategic advantage to become a leader in water technology today. Exploring the various strategies to secure water like trying to conserve every drop of rain that falls on the island to water recycling (NEWater) to desalination, the seminar also covers practical water saving techniques and the reasons why everyone in Singapore must play a part in managing our water usage. Mr Yap K.G. was a senior director at PUB when he retired, having overseen many aspects of Singapore’s drainage and water supply. His insights and experiences will explain the changing appreciation of the role of water in Singaporeans’ lives today.
