Greening the Island

Description of Programme

Singapore’s aim to become a clean and green country started just after independence but this long and arduous journey was beset with challenges, constraints, and numerous difficulties. “Greening the Island” looks at the key challenges, efforts and achievements that shaped our living environment today and made Singapore a model for many countries around the world. The seminar also explores future challenges of sustainability and climate change and their impact on every citizen. Mr S Longman was the Director of Streetscape of NParks when he retired, having participated in and overseen many of the key initiatives NParks has championed.
