In celebration of Singapore’s 56th anniversary, Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC) will be hosting a variety of programmes for visitors to enjoy either from the comforts of their home or at the centre.

With our heads, hearts and hands, come along to rediscover and reimagine the Singapore Story and what it means to be truly Singaporean this August.

Distilling the Singapore Spirit

Serving up a selection of strong Singapore spirits (pun intended) at the SDC Bar! Discover the key Spirit used in each beautifully crafted mocktail and the stories behind each drink in this interactive menu. Take a short quiz to find out which drink best suits your spirit!

National Day Carnival @ SDC

Engaging Everyone, 1 Singapore

Join us for three days of jam-packed celebrations at the Singapore Discovery Centre. There are family-friendly activities like creating your own sticker crafts, thematic guided tours of the Permanent Exhibits Gallery - Through the Lens of Time, SDC’s eco-sustainability installations, and SAFTI Military Institute, screening of Singapore Stories Films, and a live telecast of the National Day Parade on Monday at the iWERKS Theatre.

Heart: Our Port City

Come enjoy a serene evening with these floating light installations by the Discovery Lake, where we honour our prized status as a port city, open to the cultures and influences from around the world.

Join us in savouring the best of our SG Stories films! And on 9 August, sit back and enjoy the livestream of the National Day Parade to celebrate our nation’s 56 birthday on the big screen!

Learn to build your own mythical tale from the classic story of Sang Nila and the Singa. Faced with the odds of seeking new opportunities, can you be as brave as our hero?

Guided Tour - Permanent Exhibits Gallery - Through the Lens of Time

Journey through time to experience the evolution of Singapore from our early days under the rule of the Malay Kingdom to the bustling metropolis that we are today.

Discover how we triumphed through tumultuous times and turned challenges into opportunities, guided by the Singapore Spirit that continues to shape us today.

As you embark on a guided tour with us, listen to the stories of our Singapore Story Guides and share with us your own, so that we may understand Singapore better through lively conversations with you.

*To participate in the Permanent Exhibits Gallery guided tour, please proceed to the queuing area beside the cafe least 10 minutes before the stipulated tour time. The tour is limited to a maximum of ten (10) persons and admission is base on a first-come, first-served basis.

Guided Tour - SAFTI Bus Tour

Exclusive tour around the 88-hectare training ground for officers-to-be. This tour offers a unique glimpse into the life of an officer cadet and the role of SAF in the defence and security of Singapore.

*To participate in the SAFTI bus tour, please proceed to the queue at the SAFTI bus bay at least 10 minutes before the stipulated tour time. The tour is limited to a maximum of twenty (20) persons and admission is based on a first-come, first-served basis.

Guided Tour - One Planet, One Home Eco Tour

Learn how to live a greener and more sustainable lifestyle in urban Singapore through examples such as harvesting solar energy and urban gardening. Visitors will be able to come up close to eco-sustainability initiatives adopted by the Singapore Discovery Centre as they learn how they can also adopt simple lifestyle habits that will contribute to the cause of sustainability in Singapore.

*To participate in the One Planet, One Home Eco Tour, please proceed to the queue at the Concourse at least 10 minutes before the stipulated tour time. The tour is limited to a maximum of twenty (20) persons and admission is based on a first-come, first-served basis.
