FAQ for The Mind Café 

The Mind Café is a board gaming cafe established since 2005. We specialize in board games, card games and toys. We have multiple game titles that bring fun and laughter to people of all ages. We believe that bonding through board gaming is the most effective, be it between families or friends.

The Mind Café is located within Wild Thyme Cafe at Singapore Discovery Centre.

The Mind Café @ Wild Thyme Cafe provides a free board game play experience to SDC Members and paying guests.

The free board game is exclusively for SDC members and all paying guests. Paying guests are required to present a same-day receipt for verification. 

There are over 100+ different game titles available for play at the cafe. Game genres include Toys, Strategic, Collaborative, Competitive, Deceptive, Reactive, Educational, Word, Problem solving and more.

There is no limit to the number of games you can play within your gaming hours! You may pick and swap games at any point of time within the allocated time.

Each group is entitled to a maximum of 2 hours per session.

Maximum number of 8 pax will be allowed per group according to phase 3 regulations. Please appoint only 1 pax to collect the game.

There will be no game facilitators; participants can refer to the game instructions or visit The Mind Café website for more information on how to play the game. 

Decide on a game at The Mind Café @ Wild Thyme Cafe and approach our retail staffs @ [email protected] Members will need to show their e-card; paying guests will need to show a same-day receipt.

Return your game to [email protected] and our retail staff will do a quick check of the inventory.

You may approach our friendly retail staffs @ [email protected] counter.

Please inform our retail staff at [email protected] upon returning the game. A replacement fee will be charged.

We do not accept bookings/reservations at the moment. All guests have to walk-in.

FAQ for Wild Thyme Cafe  

Outside food is not allowed in the Cafe.

Yes, catering service is only applicable within Singapore Discovery premises. For more information, please contact [email protected] 

The modes of payment include Cash, Ezlink and Credit Cards.

Wild Thyme Cafe can house up to 230 pax.

There will be additional charge of $0.50 for all takeaways. You may bring along container to also enjoy $0.50 off the total bill.

FAQ for iWERKS

iWERKS 2D and 3D movies tickets are priced at $7 and $9 respectively. 

The type of movies format will be dependable on the films.

Only movie food set purchased from Wild Thyme Cafe is allowed in the iWERKS theatre.

For additional tickets, we are unable to offer further discounts due to our low-ticket cost.

We have wheelchair and accessible seating. Baby strollers will need to be parked in designated areas.

Booking of tickets can be done if the movie title and showtime are reflected on our website

Child aged 3 and above would need to purchase a ticket. For child under the age of 3, it is advisable to purchase a ticket for the comfort and experience.

Ticket purchase are non-refundable.

Visitors would have check in using SafeEntry and Trace Together App.
Temperature will be taken at the entrance. Visitors with temperature above 37.5 will not be allowed to enter. 
Visitor will also have to adhere to safe distancing measures of 1m between groups not exceeding more than 5 people per group. 
Wearing of mask is mandatory except during eating or drinking.

FAQ for XD Theatre Ride

XD Theatre Ride is priced at $10 (Adult, Aged 13 years old and above) and $8 (Child, Aged 3 to 12 years old).

Each show ride will take about 5 minutes.

• Minimum height requirement of 1.2m.
• Maximum allowable weight of 150kg.
• Intense motion ride with back and forth and side to side movement of the seats.
• Do not ride if you have any health or medical conditions such as recent surgery, neck/back conditions, pregnancy, high blood pressure etc or under the influence of drugs/alcohol.
• No loose items are to be brought into the theatre.
• No food and drinks are allowed in the theatre.

Ticket sold are non-refundable.

FAQ for Black Lake Laser Battlefield

Up to 8 players per game during Phase 3. There is no minimum number of players.

30 mins, including briefing. 15mins gameplay, 15mins mission briefing and vesting.

Casual wear and covered shoes are REQUIRED for gameplay. Players in slippers and heels are not allowed in the arena.

You are recommended to arrive 15 minutes before your booking time to register.

All sharp objects and loose items including mobile devices are to be kept in the lockers provided prior to entering the arena.

Yes, the lasers that are used in laser guns for laser tag in all over the world are practically very safe. The sensors that are used in many quality laser guns have been tested and regulated for safety, even for children. The lasers that are used in laser guns are not actual lasers, a kind of infrared light which is pretty much the same as those used in many remote controls for TV and other appliances.

Black Lake Laser Battlefield at Singapore Discovery Centre is an indoor facility.

FAQ for Crossfire Paintball

Paintballs are composed of a non-toxic, biodegradable, water soluble polymer. The paints can be washed off easily.

By law, all players must be 18 years of age and above and each player will have to submit an endorsed waiver form to our Paintball Facilitators on the actual game day. Minors aged 14 to 17 can still participate in the game if the waiver form is signed by their parent/guardian, and submitted to us on the actual game day. Photo ID must be provided for verification.

Each group will have the field for approximately 1 hour. The group can play about 2-3 rounds depending on the number of paints remaining.

A maximum of 8 players can play at one time during Phase 3.

In the event of inclement weather, we will assist affected guests in rescheduling to another date of choice, depending on availability.

Long sleeved tops and long pants are recommended for gameplay. It is compulsory for all players to wear covered shoes with good traction. Players in slippers/slip-ons or sandals will not be allowed inside the arena. Crossfire Paintball reserves the right to reject guest(s) without proper footwear and attire.

Goods can only be exchanged within 7 days of purchase with presentation of receipt, and the item in its original condition.
Goods that are soiled, washed, worn, altered or damaged cannot be exchanged.

Will my membership be extended due to covid-19?
All active memberships (as of 1st April 2020) will automatically receive 12 months complimentary membership extension.

Why is there a change in membership benefits and discounts?
Our membership programmes have been revamped to include our attractions and offerings to serve our members better. 

How can I switch to the new membership? 
All membership will be switched automatically to our new membership programme.

Do I need to pay for the membership switch? 
No. You do not need to pay for the membership switch.

Can I opt out and seek refund for my membership? 
Membership fee is non-refundable. 

Why is there a change in the number of family members for the Family Explorers Membership?
We have adjusted the number of members for the new Family Explorers membership in this revamp to include new offerings, benefits and discounts. For all existing members, your current membership will automatically be updated with the new benefits and discounts. There will not be cost incurred for additional member should your current family membership has more than 4 members. For more details, you may refer to https://www.sdc.com.sg/be-a-member.   

Why is there a change in the redemption frequency for iWERKS movies?
Our membership programmes have been revamped to include our attractions and offerings to serve our members better. For more details, you may refer to https://www.sdc.com.sg/be-a-member.  

Can I still use my current membership card?
We have replaced the physical card to an e-Card. All existing members will receive an email to access the new membership portal with the e-Card. 

Is Youth membership the same as Adventurer membership? 
Yes. Youth membership has been renamed to Adventurer membership, and there is no age limit to the membership.

Is the membership opened to only Singaporeans and PRs?
Our membership is open to all including non-Singaporeans.

How can I apply for the Membership?
You may apply for membership via https://www.sdc.com.sg/be-a-member.

Is photograph submission mandatory for the membership application?
Yes. Photograph is required on the e-Card for entry to the respective attractions. The photo requirements are:-  

Only one (1) group photo of all registered members is required for a family membership
Must not include any non-registered members
Members' faces must be fully visible
No sunglasses, mask or headgears allowed. (Headgears worn in accordance with religious or racial customs are acceptable but should not hide facial features)
JPEG format
Image Size: 19:6

How long does it take to process my membership application?
Online membership application will be approved instantly.

Would I be issued a membership card?
All members will receive an e-card via the membership portal. 

How can I update my particulars or change my photograph?
Members can update their particulars by sending an email to [email protected].

Is there any age limit for Adventurer Membership?
There is no age limit for Adventurer Membership.

Can I sign up for the Family Explorers membership for a family of 2?
Yes, Family Explorer membership can sign up to a maximum of 4 persons made of immediate family members, grandparents or domestic helpers can be registered under the Family Explorer membership. Additional immediate family members, grandparents or domestic helpers can be added at $25 per person.

Can I include my fiancé or cousins in the Family Explorers Membership?
No. Only immediate family members, grandparents or domestic helpers can be registered under the Family Explorer membership.

Can I register all adults for the membership or is any age limit for my children to apply? 
Family Explorers membership is not restricted by any combination of adult or child. 

Is there a limit to the number of an additional immediate family members for the Family Explorer Membership?
There is no limit to the number of additional immediate family members, grandparents and helper that you can add on to the membership.

Is the membership card number personalized for each person in the same family? 
There will be ONE e-card given for every Family Explorer’s application.

Can my children who are part of my membership use the membership card without me or my spouse?
Yes, they may show the e-Card upon their visit. 

Can my friends enjoy the membership’s benefits and discounts on my behalf?
Members’ benefits are non-transferable and are only for the use of members whose name are printed on the individual card.  

I would like to renew my membership. When can I do so?
You can renew your membership 30 days before your membership expires.

How do I renew my membership?
You may do so after logging in to your membership account and clicking the “Renew Now” button. Follow the displayed steps and make payment. You will receive an email confirmation with the receipt.

I want to renew my membership; however I want to remove/add a family member
Please email [email protected] before proceeding with renewal. We will update your membership information so the correct renewal rate will be reflected before you make payment.

If I renew my membership today, will the start date of my membership be reflected as today’s date?
No, your new membership cycle will start the day after the end of your current membership cycle.

Is there an expiration date for the use of the benefits?
Members’ benefits and discount will be ceased when the membership expire.

How many ticket(s) can I redeem for Escape Room?

How many ticket(s) am I redeem to for Laser Tag?

How many ticket(s) am I entitled to for Crossfire Paintball?

Can I carry forward my unused movies ticket to the following month? 
All complimentary tickets are based on members’ entitlements listed in their members’ portals. For Family Explorer’s iWERKS theatre movie tickets, it will be reset monthly and any unclaimed tickets will not be rolled over. 

Can I watch two movies in the same month?
Members will receive complimentary tickets based on their entitlements listed in their members’ portal. Any additional tickets can be purchased if required. For more details on the discounts, please refer to https://www.sdc.com.sg/be-a-member 

How often will you change the blockbuster movies?
Each blockbuster movies will typically screen for an estimated 3 to 6 weeks.

Can I cancel my redeemed benefits online? 
No. Ticket redeemed is non-cancellable. 

For the attraction tickets, can I nominate a non-member to enjoy on my behalf?
Members’ benefits are non-transferable and are only for the use of members whose name are printed on the individual card. 

How can I make a booking to enjoy the 50% off venue rental on my birthday month?

Can I purchase additional tickets if I’ve used up all my complimentary tickets?
