Description of Programme
During World War II, Singapore was regarded by many as a fortress which would never fall – yet it did in just 70 days, to the Imperial Japanese Army, which defeated an Allied force more than twice its size! Find out how it happened, and the mistakes the Allies made which led to the disastrous surrender. These are principles of war applicable to Singapore, even today. On this virtual tour, visit the Battlebox, a multiple award-winning, authentic World War II site, and understand the importance of Fort Canning Hill in Singapore’s military history. Then, head over to the National Museum to discover what happened to Singapore under the Japanese Occupation. This virtual tour includes three short multimedia shows, competitive trivia quiz and reflection session. Sites covered: a. Sally Port b. Fort Gate c. Fort Wall on Fort Canning Hill d. Battlebox Mode of Delivery 1. Session conducted remotely via virtual meeting platforms e.g. Zoom 2. Terms and Conditions
a. The units will be allowed to make a one-time amendment to their booking, to be communicated to SHC in writing at least ten working days before the conduct of the NE Activity.
b. If the units submit an amendment to their booking less than ten working days before the conduct of the NE Activity, they will be charged an amendment fee.
a. SHC will charge the full amount per participant who is absent from the NE Activity without any valid reason.
b. The charges will be waived in full for absent participants with a valid reason, subject to a maximum of 10 per cent of the agreed number of participants.
c. The following valid reasons for absenteeism are:
c.i. Submit a valid medical certificate or relevant medical documentation, or
c.ii. Furnish certain compelling reasons which are unrelated to work commitments, such as compassionate leave
d. Relevant documentation must be provided within 5 working days of the completion of the NE Activity.
a. In the event that units request cancellation of confirmed NE Activities, SHC may impose cancellation charges on these units, if a cancellation notice is not received (in writing) at least 10 working days prior to the confirmed date of the Activity. The cancellation charges will be as follows:
Cancellation notice (No. of Working Days) before confirmed date of NE Activity and maximum cancellation charges:
Less than 10 working days' notice - 10% of total fees for all participants
Less than 2 working days' notice - 50% of total fess for all participants
Less than 1 working days' notice - 100% of total fees
